This
table
is
copied
directly
from
the
ProSteering
application
guide
In
this
example,
the
gear
type
for
this

vehicle
should
be
a

gear
type.
Our
application
guide
information
does
not
show
any
history
of
a
Sheppard
type
gear
being
used
on
this
application.
Step
1:
Ask
the
customer
to
verify
he
has
a
TRW
type
unit
and
verify
the
gear
spec
number.
Step
2:
If
the
customer
is
unable
to
identify
the
characters
on
the
ID
pad
to
confirm
his
unit
is
a
TAS40006
or
TAS55001
ask
for
the
gear
housing
casting
number.
Step
3:
In
this
example,
our
customer
has
a
gear
with
the
casting
number
=
TAS552299
which
cross
references
to
PSG
part
number
55001R
Step
4:
Whenever
we
identify
a
gear
with
a
method
other
than
the
gear
spec
(characters
pin
stamped
on
the
gear)
it
is
a
good
idea
to
verify
the
housing
casting,
#
of
lines,
relief
valve
option,
#
of
frame
mounting
pads,
and
input
shaft
configuration.
Information
about
the
frame
mounting
pads
and
input
shaft
configuration
are
included
in
our
product
catalog
or
on
our
website.
A. In
this
example
the
gear
housing
number
is
TAS552299
leading
us
to
believe
the
PSG
part
number
is
55001R
B. Verify
with
our
customer
they
have
a
power
steering
gear
with
2

to
confirm
